Join us for an evening of journaling and gentle yoga to celebrate the approaching autumn equinox. “Equinox” comes from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night). Falling on September 22nd, the autumn equinox occurs when the earth’s axis is turned neither toward nor away from the sun. On this day, the sun shines directly above the equator, where day and night are most equal, marking the brief threshold between light and dark. The equinox also represents a shift from longer days, as the northern hemisphere turns away from the sun. Nights will lengthen, days will shorten.
Our celebration will begin with reflective writing, followed by intuitive movement that reflects this sense of balance as we embrace the natural lengthening of night. We’ll end with light refreshments in a closing circle where you can visit with friends and share any insights that you feel called to.
No mat? No problem. We rent them for $2. Bring your friends and an appreciation for our Mother Earth’s inherent wisdom. If you attended our Summer Solstice event, you are welcome to bring your journaling materials, but there’s no need to have joined prior to enjoy this event. Can’t wait to see you there!
xx,
Erin
