After visiting a few times myself and teaming up with local guides and travel experts, I’ve crafted an itinerary with the dreamiest, most adventure-filled whirlwind of experiences — and all you have to do is show up and come along for the ride! The colors, the sounds, the spices, and the vibrancy of Egypt are at your doorstep — and we’ve taken care of every little detail so you can adventure and experience in a carefree, zero-stress way.
This nomadic retreat experience has been carefully curated to allow you to take a deep dive into the magic, the mysticism, and the rich culture of Egypt through Cairo, Nubian Village, and a dreamy luxury four-night journey sailing the Nile! Everything has already been arranged: meals, adventures, lodging, and transportation — from the moment you arrive to the moment you board your plane to return home at the end of the week.

Hi, I’m Brittany! I’ve been teaching yoga since 2008 and opened The Yoga Underground in 2010. One of the things I love most about travel is the way it asks us to practice yoga far beyond the mat — to get curious, expand our perspective, loosen our grip on what’s familiar, and experience ourselves somewhere entirely new. Every time I arrive in a place I’ve never been, the world feels a little bigger, and somehow I feel more alive inside of it. I travel to see the world, but I also travel to see myself — and to remember how beautifully interconnected we all are. Across languages, landscapes, cultures, and wildly different ways of living, people still want so many of the same things: to love and be loved, to share, to laugh, to belong, and to connect.
Leading retreats around the world has become one of my absolute favorite things to do. I love creating experiences that feel adventurous, beautiful, meaningful, and just a little bit magical — and watching people come alive as they encounter something for the very first time. I’d be honored for you to trust me enough to show you some of my favorite corners of the world — and Egypt has become one of the most extraordinary of them all.

Throughout our time in Egypt, you will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities and adventures, designed to tickle all of your fancies — reconnect with your inner child as you allow yourself to explore and experience things for the first time, all in a safe and supportive group of like-minded humans. - connect with Egypt’s ancient mysticism through a private meditation with Brittany inside the Great Pyramid during our private before-hours visit (OMG!)
- camel ride through the desert by the pyramids!

where we’re headed, temperatures this time of year will generally range from the upper 60s–low 80s during the day to the 40s–50s in the mornings and evenings — so expect lots of gorgeous, sunny warmth, but definitely bring layers for crisp nights and breezy evenings on the Nile!! make sure to have any medicine you need! and anything else that could help make your travels more enjoyable. add a travel notice to your credit card so you can withdraw cash at an ATM in town for extra snacks, souvenirs, spa treatments, or drinks :)

Cairo
As we gather together on our first day in Cairo, we'll spend the afternoon relaxing and resting from our travels! We'll stay in a modern sanctuary in the bustling ancient city -- book a massage, lounge by the pool, or rest in your room -- the choice is yours! We'll gather together for dinner to get a good night's rest for the magical morning up ahead...

day two
Great Pyramids
Get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: we'll wake up early today, for our private, exclusive access inside the Great Pyramids! We'll enjoy a meditation with Brittany, as well as some time to be alone in this ancient wonder of the world. After soaking up all the magic, we'll head to Mena House -- an old palace-turned-hotel -- for a 5-star brunch with amazing pyramid views. The cherry on top will be a camel ride through the desert for dinner under the stars!

day three
The Nubian Village
After breakfast, we’ll fly south to Aswan and make our way to the delightfully colorful Nubian Village! Once we’re settled in, we’ll head out on a motorboat adventure along the Nile, including a visit to Anuket Island. We’ll spend the evening soaking up the warmth, color, and culture of Nubian life with a special local celebration — the perfect welcome to this beautiful corner of Egypt.

The Nubian Village
After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a little more time wandering and shopping in the colorful Nubian Village before heading out for an afternoon of ancient magic. We’ll visit the beautiful Temple of Isis and experience the Isis Gate, then return for a traditional henna and Nubian coffee ceremony — a perfect blend of sacred history, local culture, and one more dreamy day in Aswan.

day five
The Nile!
After breakfast, we’ll make our way to the extraordinary temples of Abu Simbel — one of the most awe-inspiring ancient sites in all of Egypt. After exploring these magnificent temples, it’s finally time to board the Magdalena, our private luxury home-on-the-water! We’ll settle in, enjoy lunch together, and begin our dreamy journey down the Nile — ancient landscapes drifting past as our next chapter begins.

The Nile!
Wake up to another dreamy morning on the Nile as we continue sailing toward Kom Ombo! Today we’ll step ashore to explore the remarkable Temple of Kom Ombo, dramatically perched above the river and filled with ancient stories and symbolism. The rest of the day is ours to settle back into life aboard the Magdalena — eating beautiful meals, relaxing on deck, and watching Egypt slowly drift by.

day seven
The Nile!
Another beautiful day of Nile sailing! Today we’ll step ashore to explore the ancient Temple of El Kab and its sacred surroundings — a quieter, lesser-visited site that feels wonderfully tucked away from the crowds. After our time exploring, we’ll return to the Magdalena for more slow hours on the river: long meals, lounging on deck, and soaking up the magic of sailing through Egypt.

The Nile!
Our final full day on the Nile begins with the option to float above Luxor at sunrise in a hot air balloon — an absolutely unforgettable way to see the temples, river, and desert from above! After a leisurely morning aboard the Magdalena, we’ll spend the afternoon exploring the magnificent Karnak Temple, one of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring ancient sites. Then we’ll return to our floating home for one last dreamy evening together on the Nile.

Luxor
After breakfast, our Egypt Adventure Retreat officially comes to an end. We’ll say goodbye to the Magdalena and make our way to the Luxor Airport, where we’ll help get you on your way home after one truly unforgettable week together. Or, if you’re not quite ready for the magic to end, you can continue on with us for four more dreamy nights on our Red Sea extension!

a red sea winter holiday!

You guys, this is the exhale at the end of the adventure!!! After our journey down the Nile, we’ll make our way toward the Red Sea with one more incredible ancient stop along the way: the magnificent Temple of Dandara. Then we’ll check into the beautiful Sheraton Soma Bay for four dreamy, all-inclusive nights right on the water. We’ll have two gloriously spacious days to swim, lounge, read, wander, and do absolutely whatever we want — plus a magical dolphin excursion out on the Red Sea!
The extension price includes four nights at our all-inclusive Red Sea resort, transportation from Luxor to Soma Bay and onward to the Hurghada airport, our visit to Dandara, and the dolphin excursion. After days of pyramids, temples, Nubian culture, and sailing the Nile, this is our chance to slow waaaaay down and soak it all in. Imagine turquoise water, warm February sunshine, long lazy meals, laughing with new friends, and absolutely nowhere you need to be. The perfect dreamy ending to our Egyptian adventure.
