yoga & adventure

november 11-19, 2024

this event is sold out!

get ready to experience the richness of india: a kaleidoscope of sensory delight!

rediscover your joie de vivre in style

Are you ready for the most convenient, hassle-free dream come true? India is wild and untamed and therefore often she feels inaccessible — so I’ve done all the heavy lifting for you! After visiting twice myself and teaming up with local guides and travel experts, I’ve crafted an itinerary with the dreamiest, most adventure-filled whirlwind of experiences — and all you have to do is show up and come along for the ride! The colors, the sounds, the spices, and the vibrancy of India are at your doorstep — and we’ve taken care of every little detail so you can adventure and experience in a carefree, zero-stress way.

This nomadic retreat experience has been carefully curated to allow you to take a deep dive into the magic, the mysticism, and the rich culture of India through visiting four separate locations: Rishikesh, Jaipur, Agra, and Delhi. Everything has already been arranged: all meals, adventures, lodging, and transportation — from the moment you arrive to the moment you board your plane to return home at the end of the week!

Prepare for your senses to explode as you dive headfirst into a world bursting with vivid color, vibrant life, and unparalleled beauty that will fill you with both surprise and delight. Together, we will be taken (with expert guides & private drivers) from one 5-star hotel to the next, as we explore everything from the banks of Mother Ganga in the Himalayas, to the bustling markets of Jaipur, to the intricate stonework of the Taj Mahal.

This retreat will offer an astounding variety of experience that will ignite your sense of wonder, spark your childlike imagination, and reconnect you with our shared web of humanity. I am so proud of and excited for this wild adventure I’ve crafted — and I can’t wait to share it with you! Thank you for trusting me to show you the world.

xoxo,

Brittany

overview

Our journey will begin in Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world! Here, we’ll stay at Atali Ganga, a gorgeous retreat center nestled in the Himalayan jungle overlooking the Holy Ganges. Our time in Rishikesh will be filled with morning yoga, white water rafting, and an Aarti Ceremony on the river. Imagine: drinking hot masala chai nestled in giant green mountains with a rushing river, thriving in a land that is so deeply spiritual.

We’ll then hop on a short flight (which is included and will be arranged for you!) to Jaipur, the pink city! The absolutely gorgeous palace-turned-5-star-hotel Samode Haveli will be our home & haven in Jaipur and here we’ll spend time sightseeing & in the markets. Imagine: terracotta pink buildings, monkeys, snake charmers, peacocks, and street food.

From Jaipur, we’ll drive to Agra — stopping at the amazing Abhaneri Step Well and Fatehpur Sikri along the way. Agra might look just like another average city at first, but it’s home to the absolutely spectacular Taj Mahal. (You guys, I wasn’t sure how the Taj would be IRL and it actually took my breath away, I’m serious! There’s a reason the Taj is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.) We’ll visit the Taj at sunrise when the light is best. Imagine: copious amounts of pristine white marble, inlaid with precious and semi-precious stone, all constructed as the manifestation of the sweetest Renaissant love story.

And on to Delhi! In Delhi we’ll stay at The Claridges, another ridiculously gorgeous heritage hotel. We will spend time sightseeing in both Old and New Delhi, with time to browse the spice and jewelry markets, take rickshaw rides, and enjoy some street food. Imagine: a charming labyrinth of alleyways, where history whispers and the past dances with the present in a delightful fusion of flavors, colors, and stories.

your retreat leader

Hi, I’m Brittany! I’ve been teaching yoga since 2008 and opened The Yoga Underground in 2010. I love the way that traveling gives me the opportunity to practice my yoga off the mat, as it forces me to expand my perspective and see things (and myself) in a new and different way. Traveling has also been incredibly empowering to me; each time I navigate a new airport in a new country, the world opens up to me a little more and I feel so alive! I travel to see the world, but I also travel to see myself — and myself within the world. Our web of humanity is somehow simultaneously enormous but also quite small and intimate. Together, we all want to love and be loved, we want to share, and we want to connect. And in this way we are all the same. We are one.

Leading retreats all over the world has become one of my favorite things to do, as I love watching retreaters’ minds open as they experience things for the first time. I’d be honored for you to trust me enough to show you some of my favorite hidden gems across the world — and India is now at the top of that list!

the extension

For our India Retreat, we are offering an extension option! It’s been our experience that so often our Retreaters want the chance to explore more in a given location, but are unsure of how to proceed. This extension will be an additional two nights in Varanasi, a beautifully colorful ancient town on the banks of the Ganges, just a short flight from Delhi. Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world, the oldest city in India, and is first mentioned in Ancient Vedas. It is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Hindus & is famous for its silks and perfumes. We will stay in a gorgeous heritage hotel, Surya Udai Haveli. From here, we’ll take part in a Ghat ceremony on the water, take a boat ride on the Ganges early in the morning, and tour the city with an expert guide. The extension price includes flights Delhi-Varanasi & Varanasi-Delhi, accommodations, meals, and all activities.
