the art of falling
Hey beautiful human,

Right about now, Mother Nature is doing her annual balancing act—equal parts light and dark, that perfect autumn exhale before winter’s deep rest. But let’s be real: while the earth is naturally finding its equilibrium, your nervous system might be having a completely different conversation. (Am I the only one whose inner voice sounds like a caffeinated squirrel preparing for the apocalypse this time of year??)

If you’re anything like me: You’re juggling approximately 47 things right now, your to-do list has its own to-do list, and somewhere between “adulting” and actually living, you forgot that your body is literally designed to find balance—not just survive this beautiful chaos. The problem isn’t that you’re not strong enough; it’s that you’re trying to do it all alone, without the steady rhythm of community to remind you how to breathe.

What if this fall equinox could be your invitation to stop white-knuckling your way through the season? What if instead of pushing harder, you chose to honor your body’s wisdom with some delicious autumn self-care? Maybe that’s wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket with herbal tea and actually finishing that book you started in July. Or taking a solo walk through crunchy leaves without your phone, letting your nervous system drink in all that grounding earth energy. Perhaps it’s lighting a candle and journaling about what you’re ready to release as the season shifts, or cooking something nourishing & yummy that makes your kitchen smell like home.

And if you’re craving connection (because let’s face it, we’re not meant to do this life thing solo), maybe it’s calling that friend you’ve been meaning to check on, or—here’s a wild idea—actually showing up to something that feeds your soul. Whether that’s classes with us at TYU, a book club, a hiking group, or literally any space where your nervous system can finally exhale and remember: oh right, I’m not alone in this.

So here’s my autumn dare for you: Choose one thing this week that feels like coming home to yourself. Because the most radical act of self-care isn’t another productivity hack—it’s listening to what your body and heart are actually asking for, then giving yourself permission to receive it.
The earth knows how to find balance. So do you. Let’s practice together.

P.S. However you choose to honor yourself this season, know that you’re supported. And if part of that support happens to include moving your body with us, your mat is always waiting—no matter how long it’s been.
with all my love
(and a cinnamon spice latte)
