ytt grad spotlight:

sarah!
From Thailand With Love

a glimpse into the life of a tyu ytt grad

What training(s) have you done with the yoga underground?
I did my 200 hour and 300 hour trainings!

When did you do your training(s)?
January 2023 back to back!

What was your favorite part of YTT?
Learning how to use my voice. I had a total block around projecting my voice in a class setting and was so self conscious about it. In my 300 hour training we had an acting teacher come in and wowww it helped me get to the root of what was causing that (and cry about it lol) and now I am way more comfortable and confident in using my voice as I teach! Plus the friendships I made are so special to me even now.

What’s your life like now?

So lovely. I feel like YTT changed the trajectory of my life towards one filled with purpose, direction, self confidence and inner peace. YTT really helped me have more courage to start my own business and now my deep inner passion for helping people with hormone health and womb energy wellness is literally my job, it’s such a dream come true.

What do you still use that you learned & how?
I get to teach yoga nidra and yin yoga weekly which is so dear to my heart and I learned that in 300 hour! In day to day life, a curiosity for my surroundings, the willingness and ability to meet myself compassionately exactly where I am from day to day, and finding joy and purpose in the little things.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve done using your YTT certification? If you could name your teaching successes like you were writing your yoga resume, what are some of the things you’d put on it?

Making people cry? Does that sound bad?! In my classes I encourage deep internal reflection, compassion and love for self with all of the parts and pieces that exist, as well as connecting with the inner energetic world to heal from the inside out. It is SO special to see people in class allowing themselves to feel their feelings, process what’s present and take sweet care of themselves. So yes, creating a space for tears feels like a massive success to me.

I first started my business after dealing with hormone imbalance and endometriosis and realizing that what the doctors were offering me wasn’t helping. I did a deep dive into holistic hormone health and it changed my whole life. I saw a big gap in what we’re offered to care for our hormones/cycles and what is actually needed, so Moon Flower Cyclical Wellness was born. In my space down in Springville I help people navigate their hormone imbalances on a physical, emotional and energetic level in Womb Healing Sessions, and I have other practitioners who offer facials and foot zones tailored to each phase of the menstrual cycle, pregnancy and menopause. And so soon I’m adding in a hormone dietician so you can do hormone testing and get personalized feedback on how to balance your unique hormone levels!
